Turandot (杜蘭朵)

承前文，Paul Potts 唱的，是普契尼 (Giacomo Puccini) 三大名劇之一、《杜蘭朵》(Turandot) 裏的名曲 Nessun Dorma，因三大男高音之一，帕華洛帝 (Luciano Pavarotti)，曾在 1990 年的世界杯時獻唱過，所以很流行。

《杜蘭朵》講的是一位中國公主，用三個謎語來招親，結果有位來自外族的落難王子答對了，她卻不想嫁給他。王子只好說，如果公主估中他的名字，便任由她處置。公主於是要求全宮的人徹夜不眠去尋找王子的名字。王子知道後，便唱起這首 Nessun Dorma (None Shall Sleep；誰都不能睡)：

Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Tu pure, o Principessa, nella tua fredda stanza,
guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore, e di speranza!
None shall sleep! None shall sleep! Even you, o Princess, in your cold bedroom,
watch the stars that tremble with love and with hope!
誰都不准睡！誰都不准睡！就算你，公主你，在你冰冷的睡房裏，
(都只能整晚) 看著夜星因著愛與希望而顫抖！

Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me; il nome mio nessun saprà!

至於王子的名字嘛，就是「愛」(Calàf)。
